3 Week Sleepover
VIP (Very
Important Pets)
In-School obedience
training is available in our private canine cottage on a limited basis. Guests
are treated as family members, and every effort is made to ensure an
enjoyable and stress free stay. For those dogs staying for the
sleepover, they get their own individual room (in our private
canine cottage),
complete with all their luxuries brought from home. This service is an ideal option for dogs
that may have a difficult time adjusting to a boarding kennel, and for
owner’s who prefer a more personal environment for their companion. A
stay in our home might be compared to a “Bed & Breakfast”. Every
effort is made to stick closely to your dog’s daily routine, as
consistency reduces stress. Guests are exercised twice daily, and have
the option of playing with other dogs if they desire. In-School
Sleepover guests are constantly working on obedience and behavior
skills throughout the day, given ample personal attention, and good
manners are always encouraged.

Rolling Meadows Academy
Group Obedience &
Etiquette Classes
"Public
School For Dogs"
Great starts lead to fantastic finishes!
Enroll in our Group Classes anytime! You will never have to
wait to start a group training class again. Our unique, revolutionary
courses lets you attend classes at your own pace.
Our Group Classes are taught
in 8 week sessions. Each class meets once a week for 1 hour. 'The
Motivational Method' is a step-by-step process, where each week builds on
the previous week. During class, the instructor will teach you how to train
your dog to do the steps for that week. Your ultimate success will depend on
the training sessions your dog receives at home throughout the week. You
will be provided with written "homework sheets" to help guide you through
your training at home.
Everybody comes to class with
different goals for their dogs. Our Basic Obedience & Etiquette Classes
provide a solid foundation, whether your goal is a well mannered pet or
ultimately an advanced obedience competition title. Just as the weekly
classes build on one another, there are 3 levels of obedience classes which
progress through more and more advanced levels of training.
After 8 classes, owners and
their dogs are generally ready (but not required) to test-out to the next
class level. Test-outs are conducted as soon as you are ready after the
required 8 classes. At the end of each Test-Out, we offer CGC testing
for our Graduates.
Group Class Orientation
You must first attend a 1 hour Group Class
Orientation without your dog before beginning Group Classes. This required
class will cover information necessary to prepare you for our unique
'Rolling Enrollment' Group Classes. We will discuss training terms and
equipment, dog behavior and socialization, and class structure so that you
are able to jump into classes right away. You will also receive a packet
with two informative books. After attending the Orientation, puppies under
six months will enter into Puppy Classes, and dogs six months and older will
enter into Basic Obedience & Etiquette Class.
Observe a Group Class free of charge!
We are the only dog training facility in
North Carolina to offer this opportunity. This is an ideal way to get a feel
for the teaching style and receive feedback from other students.
No
aggressive dogs will be allowed in group class. Please seek in-school
training or private instruction if your dog is aggressive towards people, or
other dogs.

Congratulations! You graduated from Beginner Obedience.
Now let's cement prior skills and teach new exercises. Highly
recommended for all dogs.
Option 3:
Our
8 Week Intermediate Obedience & Etiquette School will help both dog and
handler reinforce the lessons learned in Basic Obedience and prepare for
Advanced Obedience.
The
Intermediate Obedience School will focus on communication, attention,
and teaching your dog how to learn while under distractions.
Participants will learn to use reward markers (verbal cues) and
targeting as important tools in improving existing obedience skills and
developing new ones. Dogs and handlers will take the basics – sit, down,
stay, walking on lead and recall – to new heights, with attention
focused on the handler, a considerable increase in duration and
precision, plus the addition of high-level distractions. New skills will
include heel on-lead, an emergency drop/down (with the dog and handler
in motion), stand for examination and ‘go to your (place).’ Dog/handler
teams will build knowledge, as well as their relationship, and leave
class with valuable skills that will last a lifetime. Dogs will be
working towards off-leash control by the end of the training course.

Option 4: Advanced
Obedience is a rapid and more comprehensive instruction, building on the
foundations of basic and intermediate obedience. Unlike all of the
other obedience courses, Advanced Obedience advances to complete
off-leash control, serves as both the final course for domestic pet
obedience and the first step towards competition title training. Your
dog will be placed on long-lines and shortened to the pull-tab as
training progresses until he is completely off-lead.
While many of the people who take the Advanced Obedience course are
considering showing the dog in competition, other people simply enjoy
spending time with their dog or wish to refine skills learned in
previous classes.

"Schedule A One-On-One Training Session with Obedience & Etiquette
Consultants Allen and Barbara Simpson"
If you choose to do the training yourself,
you have the option of training at our location or in the comfort of your
own home.
With private
lessons, you are the one actually training your dog. You are taught new
exercises at each lesson and need to practice with your dog throughout the
week to prepare for the next lesson.
As with piano lessons or golf
lessons, success is achieved through practice and repetition. That’s why
you, the dog owner, are so important. Each lesson builds on the exercises
taught the prior week. Practicing 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes with your
dog every day between instructor-led sessions is the key to the success of
your dog’s training program.
Lessons are one hour in length and are held weekly.
Special one on one attention is devoted to
you and the specific needs of your dog without any interruptions.
You can schedule as few or as many as you need.
There are no
'Package' requirements, yet we do offer you a discount if you choose the
recommended Six lessons.
Appointments are flexible so that we can find times to fit into your busy
schedule.
Usually we
can provide the results to complete our basic obedience & etiquette school
within Six private sessions, as long as you do your homework between
lessons.

enjoyable and stress free stay. For those dogs staying for the
sleepover, they get their own individual room, complete with all their
luxuries brought from home. This service is an ideal option for dogs that may have a
difficult time adjusting to a boarding kennel, and for owner’s who
prefer a more personal environment for their companion. A stay in our
canine cottage might be compared to a “Bed & Breakfast”. Every effort is
made to stick closely to your dog’s daily routine, as consistency
reduces stress. Guests are exercised twice daily, and have the option of
playing with other dogs if they desire. In-School Sleepover guests are
constantly working on obedience and behavior skills throughout the day,

Congratulations! You graduated from Beginner Obedience. Now let's cement
prior skills and teach new exercises. Highly recommended for all dogs.
Option 3:
Our 3 Week Intermediate Obedience & Etiquette School will
help both dog and handler reinforce the lessons learned in Basic
Obedience and prepare for Advanced Obedience.
The
Intermediate Obedience School will focus on communication, attention,
and teaching your dog how to learn while under distractions.

Option 4:
Advanced
